Maddie

Swim Instructor

Maddie is a rising freshman and colleigiate swimmer at Garner-Webb University. She has been a competitive swimmer for 9 years, At age 13 she started coaching her summer swim team, The Piedmont Tsunamis. Maddie is super exited to work with Fun with Fins and can’t wait to teach your kid(s) how to swim!

Lauren

Swim Instructor

Lauren is a Senior at Battlefield High School and has been swimming since she was very little, Lauren began swimming competitively in 2nd grade. She is on her high school, summer, and club swim teams. Lauren has been coaching kids for about four years now, and cannot wait for her fifth!


Sophie

Swim Instructor

Sophie is a Senior at Battlefield high school. She has been swimming since she was 4 years old. Sophie began swimming for NCAP in 2018 and has been giving private lessons and coaching for two years now. Sophie can’t wait to share her knowledge going into her third year of coaching!


Alyssa


Alyssa is a rising Senior at Battlefield Highschool. She has swam on NCAP since she was 9, and been coaching since she was 14. . Alyssa qualified for the 2024 Olympic Trials in 100 backstroke, and has committed to the University of Virginia Women's swim team. Alyssa is very excited to work with the kids this summer!

Charlotte

Swim Instructor

Charlotte is a Junior at Battlefield High School. Growing up, She had the privilege of receiving private lessons, allowing her to understand the importanace of teaching. Charlotte has been coaching and providing lessons since she was 13, ultimately gaining recognition as the best stroke technique coach on her local team.

Natasha

Swim Instructor

Natasha is a rising senior at Battlefield High School. Natasha has been swimming since she was 8 years old, and began coaching for the piedmont tsunamis at age 15. Natasha can’t wait to see the kids improve, meet new people, and have fun in the pool!


Ellie

Swim Instructor

Ellie has swum competitively for over 15 years. On top of swimming for impressive programs such as NCAP, Ellie has coached her summer team since 2019; working her way up to Head Coach. Despite a busy schedule working for a private medical practice, Ellie spends her free time providing swim lessons with FWF!

Evan

Founder, Manager

Evan is a recent graduate from the University of Virginia, with majors in Leadership & Public Policy and double minoring in Entrepreneurship and Psychology. Evan started FWF in 2018, giving lessons to family friends.. Despite no longer providing lessons, Evan still oversees the day-to-day operations of Fun with Fins.

Madisyn

Swim Instructor

Madisyn is a rising sophomore at the University of Richmond. She swam on NCAP for 10 years and was the state runner-up in the 100 butterfly at her senior high school state meet. Madisyn coached for the Culpeper Country Club Barracudas for two years and she is excited to help more kids improve in the water this summer!

Q: How Long are Lessons?

Usually, lessons are 30 Minutes. However, depending on instructor schedules and family preferences, longer lessons are possible!

Q: What if I need to skip a week?

Our lessons are week-by-week, so with adequate notice, there are NO penalties or "missed lesson" charges to your families. Flexibility, flexibility, flexibility!

Q: How Personalized are Lessons?

Every child is different! At Fun with Fins, we ensure each child learns at their own pace, without any hindrances to progression. There are no "levels", no "tests", no "requirements", just fun & learning!

Q: Can I watch my Child during their Lesson?

We defer to parents on involvement! You know your child better than ANYONE, so whatever makes your child the most comfortable during their lesson is highly encouraged:) Whether you're inside working, by the pool, or in the pool alongside them, our instructors are prepared for any level of parental involvement.
